POLICY FOR ACCEPTABLE USE BY THE USERS OF THE INTERNET

Wembley Primary School provides computer resources and access to the Internet to support our objective of developing student understanding and use of Information Technology.

This document outlines the responsibilities of students and the conditions of use to which they agree when entrusted with the freedom to access information on the Internet.  Failure to comply with these conditions of use will result in the loss of access privileges.

Internet access at Wembley Primary School enables people to:

  • Send messages – email
  • Search for information
  • Investigate web sites related to personal interests.
  • Participate in collaborative projects with other schools and organizations
  • Contribute to the construction of our school web site.

Conditions of use:

  • Students will only use the Internet under the supervision of a teacher
  • Students will observe laws concerning copyright and other intellectual property
  • Students will seek permission from a teacher before copying or printing any file or article
  • Students may not deliberately access offensive or inappropriate information
  • Students may not use the Internet for purposes that are illegal or are generally unacceptable for primary students
  • Students must not advertise, sell, exchange or purchase any items by use of the Internet or email
  • Students must not send abusive, threatening or clearly unwanted messages to others

Students must not disrupt others or interfere with others when using the system.
