Public Speaking

A Public Speaking Competition is held each year to enhance students’ oral communication skills. All students follow a process of researching a topic, writing a speech and preparing an oral presentation for their peers. The length of the speeches varies according to the year level of the students and the subject matter is individual choice.  Every student presents their speech to their class and finalists are selected to compete at an assembly. Trophies and medallions are awarded to winners at a whole school assembly.

This program leads to upper primary students participating in interschool debates and state competitions.
