Technology & Enterprise

In the Technology and Enterprise learning area students apply knowledge, skills, experience and resources to the development of technological solutions that are designed to meet the changing needs of individuals, societies and environment. Students become innovative, adaptable and reflective as they select and use appropriate materials, information, systems and processes tocreate solutions that consider the short and long term impact on societies and environments.

Wembley Primary School encourages students to utilize the Technology Process and think of themselves as inventors. This process is developed in the context of:

  • Materials
  • Information
  • Systems

Students are encouraged to consider the implications for societies and environments when identifying opportunities to meet individual, group or community needs.

At Wembley we integrate the technology process with content areas to create solutions to problems. Within the classroom context students are provided with a variety of real life investigations to pursue and solve.

Students are given the opportunity to test their innovative ideas through their involvement in a number of state wide competitions. These include:

  • Quest for Values
  • World of Energy Solar Cooker Competition

Assessment in Technology and Enterprise is by moderated work samples.
