Westfield Park Primary School Aboriginal Art

Our school reflects a wide range of Aboriginal Art and Artefacts.

Two artworks painted by students and co-ordinated by a well known Aboriginal artist hang in our library.

In 1999 the school began a collection of Artefacts which is supported by our ASSPA Committee.
These include didgeridoo, spears and boomerangs all housed in a specially designed display cabinet in the library.

In 1996 an Aboriginal Mural was painted by students attending Aboriginal Homework Classes.

In 1999 we celebrated NAIDOC Week by creating class paintings which depicted the six seasons in Aboriginal culture. Two Aboriginal artists worked with all students to create the paintings. The oil paintings are now framed and hang outside the classrooms where they were created.
