Title: Fantasy
Artist: Alex
Year Level: Year    4          Term 4
Medium: Paint / texta
Comments: Continuing our work on hot and cold colours, students used templates to trace various dragon shapes. The dragon was decorated with 'hot' colour dots and the background patterned with 'cold' colour dots.
Inspired by: Theme of Flight - different methods of flying.


 
Title: Journey Into Space
Artist: Sharif
Year Level: Year    4          Term 4
Medium: Paint, cardboard, glitter
Comments: Students created a background of space using a marbling kit.  Black, blue and yellow created the atmosphere of black holes and lights. A 3D rocket was 'built' with cardboard and painted gold and silver.  More marbling in different colours was used to create the planets. Glitter finished the project to give the impression of fire and starlight.

Title: Hot-Air Balloons

Medium: Crayon/texta/coloured pencils
Comments: Using various colouring tools, students patterned hot air balloons to display in the classroom as part of our work on 'flight'.

Title: Mask - Using Complimentary Colours

Year Level: Year  6/7           Term 4
Medium: Oil pastel and edicol dye
Comments: Students start with a basic template which they embelished using oil pastels. They then selected edicol dyes in complimentary colours to complete the mask.

Comments: Students used shading and blending techniques to create abstract portraits

Comments: Students created a base portrait using abstract techniques. Students then embellished the face using a combination of either warm or cool colours.

Title: Birds
Artist: Various
Year Level: Year - Various           Term 4
Medium: Art/craft materials and polystyrene balls
Comments: We have been studying Fairy Tales and created a fantasy bird using various materials.  We started with polystyrene balls for the head and body and glued in pipe cleaners, feathers, wobbly eyes and twigs for legs.  Finally, glitter was used to give our birds a 'magic' appearance.

Title: Alien

Medium: Paint, black crayon, blue wash
Comments: To create an imaginary being based on irregular shapes using the hand and fist. Mixing blue and yellow paint to colour it in. Using black crayon to finish the features. We then covered it with a blue wash.

Title: Monsters

Medium: Straws, edicole dye, black pen
Comments: Children were asked to do some straw blowing then with a black pen we created a monster.
