Kangaroo

The kangaroo is an Australian animal.
It lives in the bush of Australia.
We can care for it by not starting bush fires.
Don't wreck their home and don't pollute their water.

Platypus
The Platypus is an Australian animal.
It lives in the water or near the water.
We can care for it by not throwing rubbish in the water and not putting poisonous things in the water because they will die if you do.
Koala
The koala is an Australian animal.
It lives in the trees in Australia.
We can care for it by looking after their trees and not throwing glass.  You should not shoot them and not cut down their trees.
Emu
The emu is an Australian animal.
It lives in the bush.
The emu is a bird. The emu lays eggs.
We can care for it by looking after the bush that they live in.
The emus are big.  The male takes over looking after the nest.
He sits on the eggs for eight weeks.
Wombat
The wombat is an Australian animal.
It lives near rocks.
It digs tunnels under the ground.
We can care for it by not setting fire to the bush and not throwing rubbish.
Do not put out poison.

 

Echidna
The echidna is an Australian animal.
It lives in the Australian bush.
We can care for it by not polluting the water, not throwing rubbish about.
If we clear their home they will die.
They eat termites.

The kookaburra is an Australian animal.
It lives in a nest and lays eggs.
It can fly.  It lives in trees.
We can care for it by not throwing anything at it.
Don't cut the tree down because the baby kookaburra might be in it.
Lizard
The lizard is an Australian animal.
It lives near rocks.
We can care for it by not setting fire to the bush and not throwing rubbish.
