There are 25 children
in our class. We are year 3s and we have 18 boys and 7 girls.
We are a lucky class because we have two teachers. One is Mrs W.
and she is nice and very caring. Our other teacher is Mrs Long she
is nice and let's everyone have a go at everything.
Art
In our class we are lucky because Mrs W.
helps us with our designing and Mrs Long helps us with our making.
Some of the things we have made or drawn
this year are:
Handbags
Dinosaurs
WA postcards
Aboriginal Dot
Paintings
Handbags
We used big sheets of paper, staples, stickers
and string. First we designed them and we drew some pictures of what
we thought they would look like. Then we put them together by stapling
two sheets together. Next we checked our plans and got another sheet
and we had to tick questions on a sheet of paper to check that we had made
it correctly and how we felt about it. We also looked at our picture design
to change it a bit if we had changed our designs. We used glitter,
stickers, beads, wool, tinsel and special cutouts to decorate our bags.
Dinosaurs
We made our own kind of dinosaurs.
We pretended we were scientists and we had made a new discovery.
We drew dinosaurs on a big sheet of graph paper and had to label its special
features like how big it was, how it defended and attacked, what it ate,
where it was found, if it was a herbivore or an omnivore or a carnivore.
We had to make up a name to suit the dinosaur.
WA postcards
We cut out some pictures from books about
Western Australia and we stuck them on brown card. Then we had to
write a message to someone in our family to let them know we were well
and pretending we were in the place where the picture was taken. We had
to write our address and phone number.
Aboriginal Dot
Paintings
We had a piece of paper that had an Australian
animal outline printed on it. Then we had to get paint on a cotton
bud and make dots inside the outline. We used red, black, blue, orange,
brown and yellow. We could use the dots around the outside of the
animal to make a pattern.
