We are Year One children. There are 21 children in our room. We have 11 boys and 10 girls. Mrs McCahon is our teacher. She is a great teacher because she gives us work and pictures to do.
Drawing Patterns Mobilo Puzzles Reading
Drawing
We do drawing all the time. We do it on paper and the computer. We draw angels and fairy tale characters. We use paper and write our name on the paper first. Then we draw our pictures. We colour them in with crayons and coloured pencils. After we finish our drawing we give it to Mrs McCahon and she puts it on the wall so that our friends and family can see it.
Patterns
In Maths we make patterns. We make squiggly line patterns, hearts and stars patterns and clown patterns. We make number patterns like 1, 2, 1, 2, 1, 2, 1,2.
5, 8, 5, 8, 5, 8 is another number pattern. We can use letters to make patterns. A letter pattern is b,o,b,o,b,o. We also make shape patterns like triangle, circle, heart, triangle, circle, heart.
Mobilo
When we have Maths we sometimes use Mobilo to make things. We make buildings, cars, cities and castles. The Mobilo is red, blue and yellow. There are wheels, buttons and other shapes that we can use to make trains and cars.
Puzzles
Some of our puzzles are on the computer and we use the mouse or the keyboard to move the pieces around. When we use floor puzzles we pick up the pieces with our hands and move them around. Our favourite floor puzzles are Flower, Heart, Clown and a Letter puzzle. On the computer we like the puzzles in Dynamite Maths.
Reading
We do reading every day. Our reading books are really great. Mrs McCahon reads to us. Our favourite stories are about animals, like looking after them and taking them to the Vet to be helped if they are sick.
