History of the School

Our school opened in 1970 and will celebrate a 30th anniversary year in the Year 2000.
The school began with just a few demountable buildings surrounded by mainly marshy farmland.  Gradually the area has been developed into housing estates which include private homes, rental accommodation and state housing homes.

We are very proud of the multicultural nature of our school population which includes families
from more than 20 different countries.

During the past thirty years three cluster classroom buildings have been added, and a purpose built library.
The undercover area, canteen and storage sheds have been added with the support of our P & C.

The school crest was evolved in 1979 and incorporates a white egret, which is a visiting bird to our wetlands.

The school colours are green, white and red and are incorporated in our school uniform worn by all our students.

The school motto is "Share, Care and Learn." And our school has a school song and creed.
