Fun
Day
On the
last day of the school year for 2007 Westfield Park Primary School had
a Fun Day where children could play on equipment set up on the school oval.
They could climb the Rock Wall, slip on the Water Slide, bounce in the
Bouncy Castle or the Pirate Ship, have their face painted, play on equipment
in the Gym Bus or play with sports equipment. EVERYONE (INCLUDING THE STAFF)
HAD A GREAT DAY.
AWARDS
ASSEMBLY
The Westfield Park
Primary School Awards Assembly was held on Wednesday, 12th December.
This was followed at 6.15pm by a Christmas Concert. The P & C
had a sausage sizzle for families wanting to picnic before the singing
commenced.
Educational
Toys for Year One
By Aleshia and Tahlia
The students of Years
5, 6 & 7 in Room 14, Westfield Park Primary School, completed a project
to make educational toys for the Year 1 students in June 2007. They used
a board, papier mache and peg dolls.
The first toy is a
3-D car track board for small toy cars. In playing with it the students
will learn mathematical terms related to space like up, down, over, above,
behind and heaps more. They can also think about road safety as they look
at the roads and think about where a person would safely cross them.
The other toy is a
set of peg dolls representing Nursery Rhyme characters like Rapunzel, Cinderella,
a Prince and a witch, so that the young children can tell these stories
to each other and practise their oral language skills.
We enjoyed making the
toys and we hope the Year 1s like playing with them.
ANZAC
DAY
Westfield Park Primary
School held their Anzac Day Ceremony on Thursday, 26th April under a sunny
sky. We were reminded of the Anzac Spirit and the importance of keeping
it alive. The Choir sang "Lest We Forget" and the Bugle was played
by Mrs W.
