BIBRA LAKE
On Monday the 14th March, 2001, Rooms 17 and 18 Year Sevens from Westfield Park Primary, left for an excursion to Bibra Lake. We left at 9.00am to be at Bibra Lake at 10.00am.Once we got there we looked around for a shady place to put our bags.
After we got comfy we had to settle into groups of three so we could share our worksheets. We separated into groups of nine with either a parent or teacher.
We spread along the banks with the distance provided. We had to find non-living and living things and write down their resources around them. When the whistle sounded we went back to where our bags were and we had our recess. Everyone ate their recess food really fast to go and play on the play equipment because it was really huge and it had lots of things to do. For example there were two big slides, two little slides, three flying foxes, tunnels and lots, lots more fun things to do. It was so much fun the teachers were having a ball, and we have the proof!
After the whistle sounded again we knew recess was over so everyone went back into their groups and waited for our next task, which was a fun treasure hunt which took half an hour. After we finished talking about what we found we had our lunch under a shady tree.
Then we put our bags back in the bus and set off for our long journey to the other side of the lake to the old lookout jetty. When we got to the lookout point we looked at the jetty and we thought that when we walked on it it might break because it looked like it had been there for ages. When we got to the end we saw a huge giant spider. Most of the girls where afraid of it. The teacher took a photo of it so we have proof of how big it was.
When we were on our way back the bus picked us up and took us back to the site where we began. When we got there the teachers got out the cricket set and we all played a game.
Once the game had ended we all got back into the bus for our long trip back to Westfield.
