Physical
Tests
-
Turbidity:
refers to how clear the water is.
-
It is
tested by pouring water into a turbidity tube when you can no longer see
the water on the base of the tube you can take the turbidity reading.
-
Acidity:
refers to amount of hydrogen in the water.
-
It is
tested by using a pH meter. After you have callibrated
the meter you then test the water.
-
Temperature:
measured using a water from the middle column of
the waterway.inity: refers to the amount of salt in the water.
It is measured by using a conductivity metre. The more electric
current the water conducts the higher the salinity level.
Biological
Test
-
Macroinvertebrate
Sampling. A
macro invertebrate is any animal
without a back bone and is larger that 2.5 mm
-
A sample
is taken by collecting a sample of water from a range
habitat sites in the wetlands. A smaller sample of water is looked
at to identify the number and range of macroinvertebrated living
in the wetland.
