McKenzie Family
James McKENZIE was born circa 1824 at Old Machar, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. He married Agnes McKENZIE on the
7 January 1849 at Banchory Devenick, Kincardineshire, Scotland. I have only discovered two children from this marriage, they are:
Ann McKenzie baptised 25 June 1849, St Nicholas, Aberdeen, Scotland
James McKenzie baptised 17 March 1852, Old Machar, Aberdeen, Scotland.
James McKenzie died between 1852 and 1858. His widow Agnes McKenzie married James McLean on the 19th November 1858 at 45 Jacks Brae, Old Machar, Aberdeen.
James (1852) married Jessie McINTOSH on the 23 May 1873 at Inverness, Scotland. Rev P. Robertson officiated and James Brown and James Maclean were witnesses. James and Jessie had the following children:

Helen Surval McKenzie married Hugh Simon Frazer MUNRO in 1914. They had a daughter Vermelles Hughina Munro, born 1915. She was named in honour of her father and the place he is buried. Hugh fought in WW1 and died on 25 September 1915, he is buried in the British Cemetery, Vermelles, France.
