All teachers are certified by the BKS Iyengar Association of Australia ( for more info on the iyengar certification process see))

Below is a brief biography of each teacher for your information:

Ann Dragon, principal teacher at the North Perth Yoga Room, first tried yoga in 1993 after a soccer injury, and soon became hooked. Ann holds a Sports Science degree from Edith Cowan University and, in 1998, completed an honours thesis exploring how regular yoga practice affected participants sense of health and well-being. In that same year, Ann also began teacher training with advanced senior Iyenger teacher, John Leebold. In 2001 she gained certification at Introductory Level 2 within the Iyengar system. Ann has recently (May 2009) successfully upgraded her teaching certificate (JI I).

Ross Parris was first introduced to Yoga in 1994 in New Zealand, and soon developed a deep love and respect for the subject. Living in the Midwest of WA he persevered alone with mat and manual until finding an Iyengar teacher in Bernadette Mitsuda, of Geraldton. She encouraged him to undertake the FINY Teachers Training Course at the Satyananda Ashram in Fremantle. He was then introduced to John Leebold at the WA School of Yoga, where he remains a devoted student. Studying under John, and Marina Jung, he gained Iyengar Certification in 2006. In that same year he travelled to Pune, India, to take instruction at the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga School. Ross began teaching in 1999 in the Midwest, and since 2003 has lived and taught in Perth. He is committed to advancing awareness of the "art, science and therapy" of Iyengar Yoga.

Erica Izett, was introduced to Iyengar yoga in Darwin undertaking preliminary classes with Carol Ballingeon. After working out bush for a few years she moved to Perth and began practising in earnest with Marina Jung and John Leebold in 2003. Excited by the benefits, breadth and quality of the Iyengar tradition Erica applied for teacher training under their guidence and passed introductory level I in 2006.
