Where is Brecknockshire ?

Brecknockshire was a rural county in South East Wales but it no longer appears on Welsh maps. It was, however, the county for the town Brecknock which subsequently became Brecon, and the county subsequently became Breconshire. Later, Breconshire was amalgamated with neighbouring counties and became part of the present county of Powys. Llanelly is situated about 15 kms south east of Brecon, down the A40 road just near the town of Gilwern. It is now in Monmouthshire)
