As an opening challenge for the first Clan Tournament of 2003, clans had to create a newspaper loosely based on AnimeLeague. This was Clan Wombats first challenge and they rose to the occasion. The clan leader, Tyrael, decided to use a simple webpage layout for presentation. This and some very funny content won them the round and started them on their road to victory in the tournament. FreeSaiyan requested that the paper become a permanent part of AL with regular updates and for several months Tyrael kept the site alive with monthly updates and a fresh new layout.

But as time went on and Ty discovered the world and vice versa, the Underground was neglected and tucked away to gather dust despite several attempts to restart regular issues. Fortunately Selphie came along and was enthusiastic enough to get the paper out of the gutter and back on the rooftops shouting loudly and proudly.
