Ok… so it’s a little late. I’ve had a lot on my hands lately and when the real world calls you just got to answer! But that’s none of your concern, what is is that we have a whole new issue of the AL Underground for you to wander through. Be sure to pass by the review section for our first real review in a while. Also you may notice that the Fruit Salad Tree hasn’t submitted work this issue. Well… the reason for that is he’s in rehab. They’ve let him write an editorial and email it to me and as you can read I think the people at the ‘Peaceful Breeze Mental Facility’ are doing a great job. Here’s hoping he can re-enter society and that Asha the graphic artist will walk again.

Okay, so I admit, I was gone for most of the preperation of this article! So I convinced my parents to take us home a day early, and I come home to at least help out a little bit with the ending of the issue and to pick up any loose ends that may be lying around. Like articles that no one opted for, or something of that sort, and I find that Fruit Tree has sweeped up and done them all! How dare he steal articles until the editor gives her word!
I'm going to eat him one of these days.
On a lighter note, this issue looks fantastic! Although we do have some idle staff that I'm going to have to start cleaning up, and I still need to pay everyone, Underground is flying high and strong. I hope you enjoy this issue as much as I do!
Selphie
Here we are yet again with another issue of the AL Underground. It’s good to see that we still have plenty of enthusiastic staff and more people eager to give it a go.
It’s also great to have Organic Power write us a more serious article on the current state of General Discussion. Be sure to check it out at the top of the Columns page.
As usual we have plenty of fresh articles and off the wall humour to lighten your day. Fallen one has submitted a guest comic in the Kids Korner and as per usual the Fruit Salad Tree is causing general chaos for us here. Our secretary recently got a desk fan which he claims is causing his leaves to dry out…
Anyway, enjoy the issue and as always, please leave some feedback. We value it oh so much as the only other indicator that anyone visits our paper is a rather inaccurate counter on the opening page.
That’s all for now, cya all next issue!
Tyrael
Seems that the meat sacks in the office are crying for attention and feedback yet here I am, a simple (though vastly superior) fruit salad tree and I have stolen the show from them completely! I didn’t here any of them celebrating and doing cartwheels down the hallway like they usually do when they get fanmail… or any mail come to think of it, just the quiet ‘tap tap tap’ of keyboards. Well, except for the whole Britney server thing that’s been going on, my god do they love that catapult of theirs… maybe I can knock one of them into it on Saturday…
The Tree
So... it's not complete... bugger off. Heehee. ^^;
I'd like to complement our amazing staff of writers, and my Dept. Editor (Tyrael) for working so hard with me on this project. I hope there's many more to come. Just not as stressful as this!
I have to admit, I've never really run something this huge, and I think I've taken it a little too seriously... but whatever! I hope you enjoy reading this lovely online paper, and find it informative, humorous, and fit to your taste! Thanks for checking it out!
Selphie
I’ve reworked the entire layout of the paper and I think it looks so much better for it. So make sure you check out each and every page since practically everything has been rewritten.
Thanks again for your time and hopefully we can put a smile on your face with this latest issue of The AL Underground. Your paper.

The Tree
Sadly, despite many attempts, regular submitters were hard to come by and the paper suffered first from a lack of material and then from a lack of time on my behalf to create a new issue every month, so the paper fell into the past, little more than a seldom clicked link on the AL header. But now at least, someone has shown as much enthusiasm in the paper as me and there may be hope yet. I speak of Selphie, the little girl that came out of nowhere to become a welcome member of AL and a respected CL mod. With her in the big shiny editors’ office, this paper may just live again.
So this is my last entry as Chief Editor of the AL Underground. From the next issue, Selphie will be at the helm but I will still be floating around as the new Dep Editor as well as running the proposed Underground forum on AL.
I've had allot of fun with this paper and received allot of positive feedback, especially from the Kids Korner comics (why the ones about Free are so popular I'll never know ^^) but it's time to move on. I hope you all enjoy this last issue of mine and that it encourages you to get creative and participate in the rebirth of the AL Underground, your paper.
Tyrael
I’ve signed a pact of sorts with Free. If he writes one article a fortnight then I have to supply a new issue every fortnight. So it looks like the Underground will be popping up more and more. If you like us then this will be good. If not then you can crawl back under whatever rock you came from and write me a better article.
So lets get on with this issue and reflect on what’s happened in the past few weeks of AL life and look forward on the AL Mod Survivor and even the future of food as we know it.
It’s new, it’s shiny, it’s informative, it’s utterly pointless, it’s the AL Underground and it’s your paper.
Tyrael
This paper is hardly a weekly thing, as much as I'd like it to be it aint gonna happen... so in the future I will be aiming for a monthly release. So if anyone wants to submit something, please don’t hesitate. This is the only Clan Wombat issue; the next will not be part of the Clan Comp.
I'd also like to take this opportunity to thank all the members of Clan Wombat who returned to the Burrow and to all the members who submitted work or featured in an article or comic. Your good humour and feedback is always welcome and appreciated.
Tyrael
It’s great to see so much enthusiasm when it was announced that the paper was making a comeback. It takes a lot of work to get this little bit of html coding up and running and a lot more to make it look like it didn’t come from an 8th graders school assignment.
I’m still learning a lot about managing a site like this so I welcome any and all comments or constructive criticism (destructive criticism shall be bitch slapped). So if you liked what you read, or the way the page is laid out then PM me or better, post in one of the dedicated threads.
Thanks for coming back to AL’s one and only paper, The AL Underground.
Tyrael
But we are back and stronger than ever. The clan comps are underway again and the future of AL and this paper look bright.
Tyrael
Well this is it. From a clan challenge to official newspaper for an entire forum, The AL Underground has just grown beyond what I had ever imagined. We now hope to bring you a humorous look at AnimeLeague each week through a series of parodies, article, interviews and more. I also hope to include such things as anime, movie and music reviews in the future. Remember… this is your paper. What you submit is what you shall read. If you’d like to see something up here then give it a go at writing it yourself… you never know, it may make front page.
On that note, I extend a welcome to any people who would like to submit to The AL Underground. Be it as a weekly reporter or as a freelance article writer. All are welcome, just think about it, your name up in lights (or at least in text, but I can make the text all pretty ^_^) for all of AL to see. Think about it.
As I write this I have just finished assembling our new website layout. It’s taken a lot of hard work (as I’m sure anyone who plays around with html would know) but I feel that the end result is a professional and functional site that is easy to navigate and pleasing to the eye. Also I’d like to thank Escapee and ALIEN Productions for hosting us.
So read on and have a laugh at the wonder that is AnimeLeague, brought to you by The AL Underground

I just want to start off by saying how much I love you guys. You’re all so beautiful. I know I may sound a little angry from time to time but deep down I care so very much about each and every one of you. They’re so nice to me here. The fertiliser they have me on is so nice. It makes me feel so happy. I love you all. You all mean so much to me. Let’s never fight again ok? I’ll leave the knives alone and we can go back to being friends again. I feel so good inside. It’s truly a wondrous thing. I love you all! This is your friend the Fruit Salad Tree signing off.

Hello, Readers! I'm Selphie, your bran' new Editor. Finally, after two weeks of hellish stress, the first issue of Underground is up and running. Whoohoo!

We’re back baby and we’re shinier than ever! This is my first issue as Dept Ed and I must say it’s an easier task when you don’t have to run after people for articles. It’s great to have so many people really interested and committed to the reborn Underground and I do hope they all stay with us for the long run.

From my glorious mahogany shelf I see all the happenings of the Underground. I sit high and mighty above them as they scurry like ants on a hotplate, running around in pointless circles with little direction (both in an artistic and lifestyle sense) and pass ruthless judgement on them! It is I who run this paper, without me they would all perish from malnutrition. Well, they would if it wasn’t for that damn candy bar tree in the boardroom. But it’s time of judgement will come by my hand/branch/iron whim! Just wait and see! Bwahahaha!

When I first made this paper many moons ago for the then young and un-proven Clan Wombat, I never thought that it would actually gain popularity amongst the rest of AL. Little did I know that a small online paper with some funny articles and a handful of comics would actually be in demand.

So it’s time again for another exciting edition of everyone’s favourite newspaper. [/gameshowhost] But in all honesty we are back and we’ve got some interesting content in tow.

Is it that time again? Well I guess it is... Clan comps are again upon us and again has the subject of a newspaper come up. We here at Clan Wombat decided to release a special issue of The AL Underground, the paper that won us the prise last time round. The page design has taken a great leap forward from this original design and as far as I'm concerned is not yet needing another one. So whilst it may look the same on the outside, the inside is full of fresh new goodies for AL newbies and vets alike.

Well we’re back… after 3 long months The AL Underground is back up and running once more with fresh staff, fresh ideas and stale bread for all! Yes I know it’s been a long time and you were all getting tired of reading about the Borken attack and other old news but fear not, we have some great reading for you this issue.

It’s been an interesting fortnight since the last publication… the previous issue was finished mere minutes before the crash of April 20. Troubles with the AlienP server and my FTP software asking for $80 for continued use all built up to the point where the April 27 deadline could not be met… so here we are, 2 weeks after the woafnet meteor collision and 2nd Impact and things are pretty much back to normal (as normal as AL can get). Thanks must go to all the Admins, mods and members. Everyone helped re-build AL, from those who defeated the borken hordes and rebuilt and salvaged the forums to those members who simply started fresh topics and maintained the peace.
