The Whitlams played on Saturday night and meeting up with Will and his mate Chris from Christchurch all went without a hitch.

It was good to see Will and Tim Freedman (of the Whitlams) it really reminded me that I'm never that far from home as long as I'm on planet Earth. Especially seeing as though Tim Freedman is one of the more famous Australians in, well in Australia.

They played well in front of the 99% Aussie audience and included all of the few songs I actually know the lyrics to (Blow Up The Pokies, No Aphrodisac, Buy Now Pay Later, Hamburgers, Louie Burdett and they finished up with 'Melbourne').

Tim said 'I got here on Tuesday and it feels like summer, felt like going down to Brighton and catchin a few tubes! ...of course things have corrected themselves now', a reference to the weather.

After the gig we were a bit dismayed to find the Walkabout closing early so we decided to catch a bus to the centre of town to have a few drinks. I thought the Sports Cafe would be the best so we went there and had some beers and danced until it closed at 3am.

Then we just aimlessly walked around the West End, down Trafalgar Square, Big Ben, Leicester Square. When we finally did find our way back to Hammersmith it was 4.30 am and we didn't want to wake anyone so we decided to sleep in the lobby of the apartment complex. Luckily it was only an hour before the long haired guy got home and let us all in.

It was a crazed night but a gooden.

Tomorrow Will and I are checking out the music stores in Tottenham Court Road seeing as that's what we have in common. Other than going to the same Primary School we also met each other gigging around Claremont with our bands The Shindigs and RamJET.

Got to go into absolute job getting mode today or I'm toast. Can't get hold of my job agent Kieth. Maybe he's religious and doesn't work during easter. Hopefully today will be the day he picks up the phone or I'll have to do something drastic, like go to pubs armed with a resume and a hungover smile.

I applied on the net yesterday for a fruit picking job, I hope I can do that because the outdoors is more my thing, more my thing than smoky english pubs.

It's kind of early to be awake, but I'm about to go down and get something to eat, use the net and then ring some numbers. I must take luck.

Would you employ this man?
